The Omega Speedmaster is one of the most iconic watches in horological history, best known for its association with space exploration. Introduced in 1957 as reference CK2915, the Speedmaster was originally designed as a sports and racing chronograph and was part of Omega’s “Professional” line. It stood out for its robust construction and the innovative use of a tachymeter bezel.
When NASA began searching for a timepiece that could endure the extreme conditions of space, the Speedmaster was among several watches tested under rigorous conditions. After extensive evaluations, NASA officially certified the Omega Speedmaster Professional (reference ST105.003) for all manned space missions. It subsequently earned the nickname “Moonwatch.”
Today, the Speedmaster stands as a symbol of precision, durability, and a key piece of space exploration heritage.
This Omega Speedmaster Day Date, crafted from stainless steel, features a blue dial with applied index. The three chronograph sub-dials display the day, month, and a 24-hour indicator, combining functionality with refined design. The 40mm case, complemented by a fixed tachymeter bezel, adds an extra layer of precision and style. The watch is presented on a stainless steel bracelet with a fold-over clasp for a secure and comfortable fit.
This is a 2010 model and comes complete with the original Omega box, papers, and a 2-year Browns warranty.
