Full-Time Jeweller / Repairer – Harrogate

Browns Family Jewellers is an established family-run jeweller with 9 shops located in and around Yorkshire. For more than a century and a half, Browns Family Jewellers has curated beautiful fine jewellery with impeccable craftsmanship. Featuring signature designs crafted from solid gold, composed of ethically sourced diamonds and gemstones, we specialise in modern-day heirlooms that will be treasured and worn for generations. Under the stewardship of the 6th generation of the Brown family, Browns Family Jewellers continues to go from strength to strength, with some of the best selections of new and pre-loved jewellery across Yorkshire.

We now have a full-time opportunity available for a jeweller/repairer in our newly constructed manufacturing and repairs workshop. The workshop consists of a spacious bench area, kitchen and separate polishing room equipped with three polishing units and a professionally maintained extraction system with air conditioning.

Our workshop team currently comprises three individuals who we would require you to work alongside as well as working independently when directed. Each member of the team performs multiple roles within the workshop and an interdisciplinary mindset is therefore essential.

The main tasks involved in the role include:

- Customer repair work

- Sale sizing

- Diamond setting

- Restoration and remodelling of customer and pre-loved pieces

- Polishing and cleaning of pre-loved jewellery

- Supporting and imparting knowledge on a developing repairers

If you have a minimum of 5 years experience, are proficient in all the above tasks, and would enjoy working within a fast-paced workshop, this could be the role for you.

All equipment is provided: Mpulse welder, laser welder and aquaflame experience will be highly regarded but not essential.

Part-Time Sales Consultant – Mexborough

An exciting opportunity has now become available for a temporary Jewellery Sales Consultant to join our Mexborough team working part-time (3-4 days/week). This is a maternity cover role (expected to commence May/June), but longer term opportunities may be available for the right candidate within Browns Jewellers.

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, customer-focused, personable and an excellent team player. Some previous experience working in jewellery and/or pawnbroking is required.  Flexibility in working days is essential, as is regular Saturday working.  Sunday working during December may also be required.
