Watch Repairs And Servicing

Watch Repairs And Servicing

All watches need some care and attention from time to time, whether it’s a check up to make sure everything is in running order, or a repair. At Browns, we know the importance of care when it comes to a quality timepiece. That’s why we offer a tailored service or repair for some of the world’s most prestigious watches, including, Rolex, Cartier, Tag Heuer, Omega and Breitling, to name a few. So you can rest assured that your prestige watch will receive the treatment it deserves.

What Happens First?

We know how special and sentimental a watch can be so we’ll update you on its time with us. We’ll send you a confirmation email as soon as it’s in the safe hands of the servicer. Once the timepiece has been examined for damage both inside and out, an estimate will be made on work needed to return it back to its former glory. Your consent will be needed before any care or repair takes place.

All watches sent for repair will undergo a free estimate of the work required, and any watches that haven't received work will be returned to you by post, paid for with our compliments.

Partial Repairs And Replacements

Like many great things, ongoing care is key. So when it comes to your treasured timepiece, no watch repair need is too big or too small. Whether your watch simply needs a new glass face, a replacement crown or clasp, or it needs a more serious damage repair, you can rest assured that it’s in expert hands. Our servicers’ have 50 years experience in the watchmaking industry, with high-end luxury brands, such as Rolex, Breitling, Omega and more.

Battery Replacement

There will be a time when the battery needs to be changed. At Browns, you can count on a professional battery replacement service. When your watch arrives, it’ll also have its case, that holds everything together and bracelet that goes around your wrist, ultrasonically cleaned. Not only this but it’ll have the added bonus of being water tested to make sure it’s water-resistant.

Strap And Bracelet Replacement And Polishing

If you wear your watch religiously, you’ll be aware of potential wear to the watch strap and bracelet. That’s why we can arrange to have the exact one ordered in and replaced for you.

If you feel your watch strap just needs a little TLC, then a professional polish will work wonders. Unsurprisingly one of the most popular services, our servicer can remove the deepest of marks from the bracelet, as well as the watch’s case. You will have it handed back looking truly brand new.

Dial Restoration

When it comes to vintage watches, dials are very precious, as vintage watch parts are no longer readily available. A watch’s dial, in particular, is one of the parts most at risk of damage due to water, discolouration and corrosion. Though this means that occasionally an exact replacement may not be available, it can still be restored as close to the original as possible. The dial is something that receives a checkup during a full service, as well as a case/bracelet valet.

Water Resistance And Pressure Test

At Browns, we’re certain your prestigious watch will receive nothing but five-star treatment. Therefore, all watches that go through the repairing process will undergo an air test according to the manufacturer’s specification. This is a particularly good test for a divers watch, with water resistance and pressure being of utmost importance.

What Does A Full Service Involve?

A high-quality watch deserves a full service from time to time, in fact, a timepiece should be serviced every three to four years to make sure its functions are accurate. Once in the hands of our trusted servicer, your watch will be stripped down allowing the movement to be cleaned. It’s also a great way to identify if any damaged or worn parts need to be repaired or replaced. This thorough full service includes lubrication where necessary, as well as the regulating and testing of all parts of the watch, meaning every possible damage or wear will be identified.

The case and bracelet of your watch will be polished if previously arranged and then ultrasonically cleaned. Once the watch is resealed back to its manufacturer’s specifications, up to 40ATM/400M, it will lastly be put through its final tests to make sure timekeeping is the best it can be.

When you have your watch back, you’ll find a full breakdown of work carried out, as well as a 24-month warranty on the repairs and service.

Whether your precious timepiece is vintage or modern, quartz or mechanical, our professional and articulate services will make sure your favourite timepiece is in full working order and restored as good as new.
